Words In Motion: Homage to handwriting with Jeannine Platz, artist and calligrapher
They will now also be on display at the KPM Hotel & Residences from 11 November to 16 December 2023: The magnificent calligraphically designed art objects by Hamburg artist Jeannine Platz. “Words In Motion” is the title of the exhibition. The show in our event penthouse “the studio” conveys an impression of the versatility of Jeannine Platz’s artistic work. In collaboration with the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, the highly acclaimed artist developed her own calligraphy series. The resulting porcelain artworks, for whose calligraphic design Jeannine Platz developed her own technique, are among the highlights of the exhibition. What’s special: Discover the unique calligraphic art throughout the house and immerse yourself in “Words in Motion”.
DISCOVERPerfection under construction: an exhibition by artist Tina Winkhaus in our event penthouse “the studio”
The extraordinary, metropolitan and exclusive space of our event penthouse “the studio” provided the spectacular backdrop for works by the internationally renowned Berlin artist Tina Winkhaus for the first time in spring 2023. Under the heading “Perfection under construction”, the artist presented elaborately produced masterpieces that impressed with their visionary power and subtle humor. Through the extreme aestheticization of her motifs, Tina Winkhaus succeeds in sharpening our eye for the flip side of beautiful appearances.
DISCOVERPERMANENT EXHIBITION: SCULPTURES BY MICHAEL FELIX LANGER
As soon as you enter the lobby, you can feel that the KPM Hotel & Residences and the Königliche Porzellan- Manufaktur Berlin are united by the same demand for special aesthetics, the highest level of quality and their own design signature. Individuality paired with an inner bond – the architectural firm Axthelm Rolvien, which was also responsible for the interior design, wanted to see precisely this characteristic realized in the works of art for the lobby, the restaurant and the rooms of the KPM Hotel & Residences. In the artistically outstanding objects by the renowned Berlin sculptor Michael F. Langer, the architects found the harmonious interplay of modern design and the classical concept of art realized in a congenial manner. Years ago, Michael Felix Langer integrated porcelain objects from KPM Berlin into individual design sketches. A beautiful coincidence that seems to anticipate the fruitful collaboration of the KPM Hotel & Residences and Michael F. Langer.
